Running the risk of repeating myself to death, I must once again mention that this vision is NOT mine, these are the words of Keith Luker, and he wrote it in first person, so when it says I or my, Keith means himself there. Enjoy it.
by Keith Luker There is nothing like the sound of a hungry lion roaring in the wild. It is nothing at all like the roar of a lion in captivity. One night, in the middle of Chobe, Botswana in Southern Africa, 250 kilometers from the nearest village, I heard the most awesome sound. I will never forget it. It was like an earthquake on the inside that penetrated the entire camp, shaking us to the core of our being. That unforgettable sound is the sound of a generation hungry for their destiny. There is a growing number of displaced and "waiting" young people in the church that have saved themselves for the Lord and for His Kingdom. From older teens to early thirties, especially in the twenty-something group, there is an extreme hunger to do something for God, and yet this pervasive sense of waiting for the Lord to give them direction and a specific task. I have never in my life seen such a concentration of devoted, passionate, pure, spiritually focused men and women in one generation. They have set themselves apart, they want one thing, and they will settle for nothing less than the real thing - Jesus, His Kingdom, His glory alone - nothing less, nothing else! They understand their own weakness, but they know their God is huge. True humility graces their opinions. Great power is harnessed in their meekness.
I believe the Lord has set this generation apart for Himself for a specific purpose to usher in the greatest revival the world has ever seen. These young warriors will be the leaders of the church now, not waiting until they're 40 to begin leading the charge. They have waited all their lives for something worth dying for. Because of the turbulent times we are coming into, God has uniquely prepared a generation that will not flinch in the face of sacrifice. These are the ones who are not only willing, but eager to give their lives for the sake of the gospel. They have waited all their lives for something worth dying for. The Holy Spirit is now beginning to call them forward into their destiny. They are hungry, they are fierce, and given the slightest opening, they will rush in and devour God's purposes for this generation. The sound of the young hungry lions is disturbing to those who are too comfortable with their own brand of religion. It is a new sound. It is the sound of war. The sound of passion. It is the sound of the Captain of the Hosts, riding on a white horse, calling throughout the earth "Who will ride with me?" Can you hear the sound of the roar of His young hungry ones as they answer the call? This sound alone will be the catalyst for sweeping cultural change. Nothing will stop them. All we must do to prepare is feed the young hungry lions, and give them permission-no, compel them to roar. This sound alone will be the catalyst for sweeping cultural change. We will hear it in the music, we will hear it in the streets. If we are blessed, we will hear it in our churches, but if not, they will form their own churches. We will hear the roar of the Great Lion in their message - pure Jesus, pure good news, radical change, real life in the purest form. True brotherhood will be their watchword. Friendships that startle and upset the status quo. Love that is deep as the ocean. Loyalty that is as fierce as bloodshed. Get out of their way, they are hungry. And they won't be deterred from their prey. All of God - now! No compromise, no excuses, and no obstacles too big for their Big God. What an honor it is to have lived to see this generation of hungry lions come into the destiny they were born for. Feed them and let them roar! ![]() Is what you're living for worth Jesus' dying for? |
